Microsoft PC Help
Microsoft PCs have long been a staple for consumers to turn to when they need a computer. Partly because of the huge market share Microsoft enjoys, there are many types of problems that can occur in the Windows operating system, simply because so many people use it in so many different ways.
Time Frame
Problems affecting Microsoft PCs can occur at any time; whether the operating system was just installed, or if the computer has been running for years. In general, the more use a computer gets, the more likely it is that it may develop problems, due to user error, file corruption, program problems or other issues. Problems themselves may also have time frames for when they occur, if they occur at certain dates or times, or happen on regular intervals.
Effects
Microsoft Windows problems can have a variety of effects on a computer, ranging from minor annoyances to serious system catastrophes. Minor problems can have effects such as data loss, program crashes and unexpected rebooting. Moderate problems have effects like virus infection, program corruption and data corruption. Major problems include effects such as operating system failure, blue screen errors and hardware breakdowns.
Misconceptions
Although Microsoft PCs do have many problems that can go wrong with them, they are no more prone to errors than any other operating system, such as Linux or Macintosh. The major difference between Microsoft and other operating systems is that Microsoft has such a large market share that anything that can go wrong with a Microsoft PC most likely will, simply because there are so many people using them. This does not mean that Microsoft PCs are any more dangerous to use than other types of computers.
Prevention/Solution
Common problems that plague Microsoft PCs can be avoided by following a few simple tips. First, always have an antivirus program running on your computer, and ensure that it is up to date and use it frequently. Install an anti-malware program as well, and run it at regular intervals. Perform disk defragmentation, disk cleanup and other maintenance utilities on your computer often to keep it performing well.
